These hallowed halls hold over a century of fond memories. Even before the building was built in 1920 for the YMCA, on these grounds stood the Hotel Palomares, erected in 1885 and later disheartenedly burnt to the ground in 1911. The Pomona YMCA, recently purchased and meticulously restored, is now named The Union and includes The Cathedral, a unique treasure to the music culture, community, and industry.
The Cathedral, although it was primarily utilized as a YMCA gymnasium, has historically alluring details like stained glass windows, wood rafters, vintage wood court floors, all which add to the beauty and magic of this space. Focused on being a hub for independent and emerging musicians, we showcase bands and artists from the surrounding region.
Set to be finalized by Fall 2024, we will feature state of the art sound, visuals, and a little of our own magic. Plans to develop an in-house recording studio are set for 2025. Our team is led by seasoned industry musicians, producers, and event designers.
